Prince Rupert is the gateway to Alaska and the jumping-off point for Haida Gwaii, and it earns its living on the water. Between shifts or between ferries there is plenty to fill a day.

By road, rail, ferry or air.

Driving

Highway 16 (the Yellowhead) runs to the door. Parkside is at the entrance to town, so it's the first stop in and the last stop out.

Ferries

Both the Alaska Marine Highway and BC Ferries terminals are about 1.5 miles away. Car storage is available here if you're sailing without the vehicle.

Rail

VIA Rail's Skeena service reaches Prince Rupert from Jasper. Check current schedules — the service does not run daily.

Air

Prince Rupert Airport sits on Digby Island, reached by a ferry-and-bus transfer. Allow extra time in both directions.
